Kibale Forest is an ever green rain forest located in southern Uganda. It is 766 square kilometers (296 sq mi) in size and is located between 1,100 meters (3,600 ft) to 1,600 meters (5,200 ft) in elevation. The forest forms a continuous coverage with Queen Elizabeth national park. The adjourning of the parks creates a 180 kilometers (110mi) wildlife corridor.

Kibale Forest Reserve is an important eco-tourism and safari destination, popular for its population of habituated chimpanzees and twelve other species of primates like the red colobus which persist in the less disturbed areas of the forest in their natural habitants. It is also the location of Makerere University biological field Station.
