Known as the "Place of many little birds", Lake Bu Known as the "Place of many little birds", Lake Bunyonyi located in South-western Uganda is a place of beauty earning it's place on the 5,000 Uganda shilling currency note.

There are many theories about this lake but check this one; the Bakiga in Uganda used to leave unmarried pregnant girls on this small island to die of hunger or while trying to swim to the mainland (swimming skills were rare). This was to intimidate the rest, to show them not to do the same. A man without cows to pay for bride price could go to the island and pick a girl. This practice got abandoned in the 20th century though.

Park/Field Rangers, thank you very much for your d Park/Field Rangers, thank you very much for your dedicated efforts in making us enjoy the immense wildlife that the world has to offer. Tracking animal movement is not an easy job but you pull it off by enforcing the regulations like anti-poaching in and around protected areas. Even with numerous ranger challenges, you keep going and you will always be our nature heroes. Asante Sana for a job well done.

The African green broad bill - one of the most sou The African green broad bill - one of the most sought birds in Uganda.

You might be able to view this bird in Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park and one needs to be critical and focus clearly on the forest surroundings because it can be viewed mostly in locations that have alot of green surroundings. It is facing a high risk of extinction the world over and Uganda is privileged to have it in it's montane forest of Bwindi.

These birds are sexually dimorphic, meaning that males and females look different. Males have a black dot behind their ears and black bands across their wings, females have feathers of a duller green and no black markings.

We at #NjuguTours are ready to receive you and make you Experience Africa Differently.
